LP BOX: THE RECORD PACKAGING

HOW CAN YOU PACK & STORE VINYL RECORDS?

Have you ever been confronted with the problems that arise when storing or transporting records correctly? No matter what use you are looking for: We probably have the right solution. Our extremely robust and high-quality LP box measuring 317x317x65 mm has proved to be just that over the last few years! Due to its versatility, it is now available from a quantity of 60 pieces!

As a rule, it is music producers, DJs or bands who enquire with us about suitable packaging for their records. However, the rock star among packaging is also suitable for a range of other applications - find out more below.

The correct way to store records

The correct way to store records

For most of us, records are more than just emotionless sound carriers. They convey very specific feelings and memories - and connoisseurs also appreciate the cosy, analogue sound quality. After all, listening to records is also to some extent an experience.

And vinyl has been enjoying increasing popularity again for some years now, as the sales figures of recent years show. While physical music sales are declining sharply in virtually all sectors, the vinyl industry was able to increase its sales by over 240% from 2012 to 2019.

To ensure the special quality of the music and the longevity of the longplayer, it doesn't really need much care: but there are a few things to bear in mind!

Records like to stand

You read that right! It is best to store vinyl records upright to ensure that they have a long life. However, the iconic long-players should not be leant on, otherwise they can bend over time and the music experience will turn into a rather strange experience. The long players can also be stored horizontally. However, you should not store more than about 25 of them on top of each other. This is because the weight can damage or deform the grooves. As a retailer, you can therefore show expertise and provide the perfect solution for storing the vinyl.

Storing records safely

In the LP box, the records can be stored upright on the shelf or lying on the record player without being exposed to unwanted forces. In addition to gravity, excessive exposure to light or moisture is also poison for the vinyl. The robust packaging protects the records from external damage and also protects them from dust! Scratches on a record are far more than just an annoying visual blemish. The function of the records can suffer considerably as a result! The protection against dust also saves subsequent care - there is no need for brushing and consequential damage is avoided.
Perfect for music labels

Perfect for music labels

However, the classic application of the LP box is in the packaging of records and band merchandising. Music producers, manufacturers and bands use them to package their records and bring them to market or send them out. Due to the height of the box, around 12 to 15 records can be stored in the boxes, depending on the thickness of the covers. The packaging is therefore suitable for entire collections or, above all, for one thing: merchandising!

This is because music labels like to use them to integrate other fan merchandise alongside the records. Band shirts and band biographies are typically merchandising products that are often marketed together with the records. The fan packs can also be dispatched directly with the appropriate outer box.

Combine this with unbeatable branding of the packaging in the form of digital printing or embossing and you have the ultimate merchandising package!

Record packaging for bands and music producers

Record packaging for bands and music producers

For bands and music producers, the complete packages are the ideal marketing solution for distributing real music on vinyl. Thanks to the band's customised cover artwork and matching accessories, the boxes become a complete work of art that leaves plenty of room for design. A way for bands to create a strong image effect with their merchandising - but as we all know, pictures speak more than 1,000 words!
