A family business with a long tradition

Today, the company is managed by the fourth generation, Jochen and Ralf Leser. They can look back with pride on over 85 years of successful company history.

1937 - COMPANY FOUNDATION

On 1 July 1937, Fritz Leser senior founded the Leser company in the premises of a cardboard factory in Hansastraße in Lahr. Production included cardboard and wooden packaging for watches, jewellery and gift items.

1953 - SECOND GENERATION OF COMPANY MANAGEMENT

Fritz Leser senior passed away in 1953. His son Fritz Leser successfully continued running the company with 140 employees and 30 home workers. The company also regained a foothold in the export markets.

1975 - THIRD GENERATION OF FAMILY MANAGEMENT

Fritz Leser hands over the company to his two sons. Wolfgang Leser takes over management of the commercial division. Winfried Leser takes over management of the technical division.

1979 - ZUKAUF MAX RETSCH NACHF. GMBH

In 1979, Max Retsch Nachf. GmbH from Pforzheim, Unterreichenbach, was acquired.

1986 - COMPANY RELOCATION

In 1986, the company relocated from Hansastraße to the Lahrer Industriegebiet West industrial estate. The new premises cover an area of 18,500 m², of which over 5,200 m² is built on.

1991 - COMPANY EXPANSION

The company expanded by 3,000 m² to the existing building.

1996 - FOURTH GENERATION OF FAMILY MANAGEMENT

01.07.1996: Wolfgang Leser hands over responsibility as Managing Director of Sales to his son Jochen Leser.

01.07.2000: Ralf Leser takes over responsibility as Managing Director of Technical Operations from his uncle Winfried Leser. At this point, the company has around 150 employees.

2004 - TRANSATLANTIC COOPERATION

Leser GmbH enters into a cooperation agreement with the US company Warner. The merger of the two companies is an important step towards meeting the growing demands of the global market.

2005 - NEW BRAND IDENTITY

Leser has a new look.

2007 - PACKAGING AND MORE SINCE 1937

On 1 July, the Leser company celebrates its 70th anniversary. There are now virtually no limits to the production of packaging made from a wide variety of materials in numerous colours and shapes.

2012 - EXPANSION OF MACHINERY

In 2012, the cardboard packaging production branch will be brought back to Lahr. Flexibility in production and faster delivery times were the two decisive factors behind this decision.

2016 - NEW WEBSITE

Complete redesign of the reader's website. Adapted to the latest technical challenges.
